Forest conservator of Sarawak Forest Department Johin Ngayop said five species of trees consisting of kayu putih, tecoma, palma, ubah and ru were planted.
“We choose SMK Kemena because the school has a huge open space,” he said when met at the event.
He said it was one of the Forest Department’s annual programmes conducted to create awareness on appreciating the environment.
“This is one of the department’s programmes to inculcate greater awareness among the public, especially the younger generation.”
