KUCHING: Anna Cake Training Centre (ACTC) will be offering a 3-week programme for children during their school holidays from Nov 21 to Dec 10.
Principal Anna Bong said the programme consisted of ‘Hawaii pizza’, ‘chicken pizza’, ‘tuna pizza’, ‘gingerbread man’, ‘vanilla mousse cake’, ‘chocolate mousse cake’, ‘strawberry mousse cake’, ‘coffee mousse cake’, ‘ fondant angry bird (five types)’, ‘homemade chocolate’, ‘American chocolate cake’, ‘banana cup cake’, ‘ doughnut (five types)’, ‘sausage bun’, ‘pizza bun’, ‘red bean bun’, ‘butter milk bun’, ‘blueberry muffin’, ‘lemon shortbread’, ‘traffic light biscuit’, ‘momo with milk biscuit’, ‘fruit jelly’, and ‘chocolate chip cookies’.
Fee is at RM300 per person, which included ingredients.
Meanwhile, the centre would also be holding a demonstration on ‘chocolate polo puff’, ‘sunkist chiffon’, ‘sunkist mousse’, and ‘rich chocolate sponge with Christmas decoration’ baking from 2pm to 4pm today (Oct 15). The fee is RM40 per person.
Bong said it is opened to the public, including students.
ACTC now offers Diploma courses for bread, cookies and pastry making (Western and Eastern styles). It also offers decoration courses for basic, intermediate and advanced levels.
Students typically take between six and 10 months to complete a course.
Other baking courses available include ‘Nyonya kuih’, Hong Kong ‘dim sum’, layer cakes, cheesecakes, Chinese pastry, cartoon sugarcraft decoration, wedding cake decoration and Chinese cuisine.
“We provide hands on practical sessions under close professional guidance. There is no age limit to attend our course as it is opened to school leavers and also working adults.
“For outstation students, we can arrange accommodation for them,” she said. She assured that the ACTC had been recognised by the German-Malaysian Institute (GMI) for having successfully completed the ‘In Company Coaches Training Programme’ for the National Dual Training System (NDTS), conforming to the standard requirements by the Department of Skills Development.
The centre currently also provides full-time and part-time courses for baking, cake decoration, dim sum, cookies, Chinese pastry, to name a few.
Baking courses include bread making, cake making and pastry making while cake decoration courses comprise basic cake decoration, animal piping decoration and Taiwan style decoration and other courses are Hong Kong dim sum, kek lapis making, cheesecake making, cookies making, Chinese pastry making, sugar craft and wedding cake decoration.
Course fees vary and interested learners are advised to visit www.annacake.com. Enrolment can be done anytime as flexibility is pledged.
Bong said all courses came with hands-on training, suitable for working adults, homemakers and school leavers.
“For full-time courses, we have more than 100 types of cookies, cakes, pies, tarts and decorations to enlighten learners,” she said.
Located at Lot 6676, First Floor, Lorong 4B, Tabuan Laru Commercial Centre, Anna Cake Training Centre opens from 9am to 12pm Monday to Saturday, 2pm to 5pm (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) and 7pm to 9pm (Thursday).

It is opened from 8am to 5pm daily, except Sundays and public holidays in which it closed at 12 noon. It is located at Lot 330, Ground Floor, Tabuan Laru Commercial Centre (opposite Unaco’s supermarket).
