Family Killed: Teachers Describe Ling Children As Good Pupils

SIBU: Teachers at SJK Chung Sing, where murdered siblings David and Amy Ling attended school along with their critically injured brother Kelvin, described all three as good pupils.

SJK Chung Sing senior assistant (student affairs) Hii Kiing Siong said all three siblings had registered for the new school term.

“They came to the school with their stepmother on Dec 30 last year to register for this year’s school session. They looked happy.”

She said David would have been in Primary 5K, Kelvin in Primary 3B and amy in Primary 2P.
Hii described David as a quiet, disciplined and cooperative pupil.

Kelvin Teacher Yiu Poh Ling, who teaches Moral and Mathematics, said he is a top pupil in the latter.

“He scored 100 in the subject in his final examination last year. He also scored A’s in other subjects.

Goverall, he was number two in his class last year,” Yiu said, adding that she hoped to visit Kelvin in hospital.

Kelvin was transported to Kuching by Helicopter on Wednesday night and is currently receiving treatment at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).

Meanwhile, Amy was also described as a model pupil by her teacher Wong Siew Ling.

She was among the top 10 achievers in her class last year. she was very helpful,” said Wong.

Also killed in the bloodbath on Tuesday at the family’s RTM Road home were the children father Ling Tong Hock, 36, and grandmother Leong Nyuk Lan, 76.

Ling and Leong’s bodies were found in a pool of blood in the kitchen.

David’s body found in an upstairs room of the double-storey terraced house, while Amy’s body was in the living room.

Ling’s 28-year-old Chinese National wife was the only family member to escape unhurt.

On Wednesday, she was remanded for seven days by the Sessions Court to assist with the investigation.
