Five teenagers who called themselves “Kumpulan Manok” was arrested and found to be involved in more than 15 housebreaking and theft cases in Kota Samarahan.
In a press conference this morning, DSP Abdul Rahman Ahmad, OCPD Samarahan revealed that the five aged between 16 and 17 had been terrorizing house owners with their break in the last 3 months.
They targeted their neighbouring areas like Taman Samarindah, Taman Merbau and Taman Uni Vista making of small items in the houses which could easily be taken out unseen like cash, gold jewelry and electronical devices.
Abdul Rahman said the first break came when they arrested a 17-year old in his house at Taman Samarindah on March 15.
From there, they arrested four more teenagers. The group then took police to an abandoned house at Taman Samarindah No 316 and a bush at Jalan Lama where police recovered the stolen properties.
They are remanded for five days until March 25 and would be charged under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking and theft.
Abdul Rahman said as they are under age, they will be sent to Pusat Pemulihan Sekolah Henry Gurney for three years upon conviction.
