The teacher then coaxed the girl to tell him what has happened and was told that her step mother had abused her.
The girl aged 11 came from a broken family and her father was believed to remarry.
She told the teacher that her father brought her out shopping for stationery and her stepmother was upset that she bought a lot of things.
The girl said her stepmother had been punishing her for quite sometime. She was then brought to the Sarawak General hospital for medical examination.
Police were informed and the welfare department was also alerted.
