Student Commit Crime For Cash

A college student has been arrested by police for riding a stolen motorcycle and also admitted to stealing them as he need the money.

The student aged 20 from Kpg Sg. Mata, Samarahan was sitting suspiciously on a motorcycle at MJC yesterday evening at about 5.30 pm when he was questioned by the police.

Police checked and found that the motorcycle he claimed to be his did not match the chasis number. He admitted that it was stolen on Tuesday and he had stolen before to sell the parts of the motorcycles.

The student was brought to the police station and detained.

Meanwhile, police believed they have smashed a snatching gang with the arrest of three suspects aged 24 and 25.

The first suspect was arrested in a house in Samarahan at 8 am today. The other two suspect was arrested in Tabuan Melayu.

Also seized from them were a gold necklace and other values. The gold necklace was snatched at a shopping complex in the city a few days ago. A woman had bought the gold necklace from the suspect after he told her it belonged to his mother and they need the money.

The woman is also being questioned as she claimed to have bought the gold necklace at RM600 and sold it for RM580.

The three are now being detained but not the woman.
